What is a Project Manager-Operations?
Under general supervision, the Project Manager is part of a team that is responsible for the emergency planning activities that are required to maintain and execute Central Hudson’s gas and electric emergency plans. The Project Manager is also responsible for developing, implementing, and/or administering projects for the Emergency Management team.
What does a Project Manager-Operations do?
»Administer, and/or execute the emergency planning tasks that are incorporated in Central Hudson's gas and electric emergency response plans prior to, during, and after any type of man-made or naturally occurring emergent evert
»Develop or modify emergency plans and procedures that are included in the plans
»Develop and facilitate various emergency exercises
»Develop after action reports and improvement plans for exercises and track improvement items to completion.
»Work with other departments to ensure that the content and administration of required emergency training is current, completed and executed in a timely manner.
»Equip employees with the proper tools and material to execute their storm responsibilities
»Coordinate with other departments to secure and administer contracts necessary to execute emergency plans
»Generate invoices for mutual assistance provided to other utilities.
»Represent Central Hudson with vendors, other utilities, and other emergency response agencies prior to, and during, emergency events
»Prepare, or provide information for, written messages, statements, reports, and other documentation to alert our employees and other stakeholders of predicted events or to document emergency restoration efforts that have occurred
»Administer or manage other emergency planning related projects and tasks as necessary.
»As a member of the Emergency Response team, accept functions as required during gas and/or electric emergency preparation and response. Be available outside of normal working hours to support the emergency response needs.
What does it take to be a Project Manager-Operations?
Required:
»A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Emergency Management or another related field. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree in a related field and at least 2 years of practice in Emergency Management.
»Strong interpersonal expertise for interaction with both internal and external stakeholders
»Strong attention to detail while working in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment is required
»Strong computer expertise, including a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
»Well-developed written and verbal communication expertise are required
»Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
» 5 years practice in Emergency Management
» knowledge of the FEMA ICS and HSEEP
»Gas and/or electric utility operation knowledge
»Project management practice
