Job Description

Location: Remote (Lawrenceburg, IN Area) with occasional on-site client visits and content filming

Employment Type: 1099 Contract Position

Hours: ~20 hours per week

Compensation: $20/hour with opportunity for increases based on performance

ABOUT 39 NORTH MARKETING

is a growing marketing agency serving clients across Southeast Indiana and beyond. We specialize in strategic marketing, digital presence, paid advertising, search engine optimization, content creation, administration and operations management, and event management for businesses and nonprofits. We're expanding our team to support exciting new projects, including a local publication launching in April 2026 and several high-impact client campaigns.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Marketing & Events Coordinator to join our team and support three key areas:

  • Event Marketing & Management: Help execute major nonprofit fundraisers, including participant recruitment, sponsor outreach, social media campaigns, and day-of coordination.
  • The Local Publication Launch Support: Assist with getting our new local publication off the ground, including content coordination, community outreach, securing advertisers, and operational support.
  • Agency Growth & Content Creation: Support 39 North's client acquisition efforts, create and manage social media content for our agency, and help build our brand presence in the community.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Event Marketing & Management

  • Support event planning and execution for client fundraising initiatives
  • Coordinate participant and sponsor recruitment campaigns
  • Create and manage social media content and email campaigns
  • Track registrations, donations, and event logistics
  • Coordinate in-kind donations and partnerships with local businesses

Publication & Media Support

  • Assist with launch logistics for a local publication
  • Help coordinate content submissions and editorial planning
  • Support advertising and sponsorship coordination

Agency Growth & Content Creation

  • Film and create social media content for 39 North's channels
  • Support client acquisition efforts (outreach, proposals, follow-up)
  • Manage social media posting and engagement for our agency
  • Assist with client projects as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
  • Reliable transportation for occasional client visits and content filming (Southeast Indiana area)
  • Basic photography/videography skills (smartphone camera acceptable to start)
  • Must have your own phone, camera, laptop, and reliable internet connection

Preferred Additional Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, etc.)
  • Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Suite)
  • Video editing experience
  • Event planning or nonprofit experience
  • Familiarity with Southeast Indiana community

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work from home with flexible scheduling (20 hours/week)
  • Occasional in-person client meetings and content filming sessions
  • Collaborative team environment with regular check-ins
  • Opportunity to grow with the agency as we expand

COMPENSATION & GROWTH

  • Starting rate: $20/hour
  • 1099 contractor position
  • Performance-based rate increases available
  • Opportunity to expand hours as agency grows

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR RELATIONSHIP

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business expenses. You will have flexibility in how and when you complete your work, provided deadlines and client needs are met. This position does not include employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions. 39 North Marketing does not withhold taxes from contractor payments. You will receive a 1099-MISC form for tax reporting purposes at year-end.
