About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Finance to lead our finance and accounting organization and serve as a strategic partner to the executive team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on, people‑focused finance leader who thrives in a capital‑intensive, highly regulated telecom environment and enjoys building strong teams while owning the numbers.
You will oversee accounting operations, financial planning, and strategic analysis, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and clear financial insights that guide critical business decisions.
What You'll Do
Lead & Develop the Finance Organization
Create, lead, and maintain a high‑performing accounting and finance team
Coach, mentor, and develop team members while setting clear priorities and expectations
Establish scalable processes, structure, and accountability across the finance function
Foster a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning
Analyze complex revenue streams, including subscriptions, data services, infrastructure, prepaid/postpaid plans, and enterprise contracts
Deliver clear, actionable insights tied to key performance metrics
Strategic Decision Support
Partner with executives to guide major investment decisions, including network expansion and 5G/6G initiatives
Support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships through financial evaluation and modeling
Translate financial data into clear recommendations for leadership and the Board
Cost Management & Margin Optimization
Monitor and manage operational costs, including network maintenance, spectrum licensing, fiber, satellite communications, and infrastructure
Drive efficiency initiatives and margin improvement across the business
Reporting, Compliance & Governance
Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP/IFRS
Oversee audits and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCC)
Strengthen internal controls and financial governance
Capital Allocation
Manage significant capital expenditures (CapEx), including towers, fiber networks, and equipment
Evaluate and optimize return on investment (ROI) for major capital projects
What You Bring
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred
8–15+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting
Prior experience in telecommunications, technology, or infrastructure‑heavy industries preferred
Proven experience leading and developing finance and accounting teams
Core Skills
Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
Deep understanding of telecom economics and pricing models
Experience tracking and analyzing KPIs such as ARPU, churn, CAC, and margin
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen
Confident communicator capable of influencing senior leaders
